Brown University

Based on my design and rendering work in the UTI capstone project, Dr. Anubhav Tripathi employed me at the Brown University Biotech Lab.

From May to July 2026, I assisted with select projects highlighted below, specializing in CAD rendering, animation, and design concepts. This was a real lab environment, allowing me to work with engineers and experience industry workflows.

Compact Automated Centrifuge

Revvity

This benchtop swing-bucket centrifuge was built for liquid-handling automation decks—2 mL tubes, on roughly a two-plate footprint. As part of a larger pipetting benchtop, the engineering team produced this complex CAD model of the centrifuge, which I textured and animated in KeyShot for Revvity’s investor team.

I highlighted the prototype’s key novel features:

  • 6,000 RCF in a two-96-well-plate footprint

  • Closed-loop brushless control (G431 ESC + Arduino supervisor)

  • Lid interlocks (red), overspeed & fault safety break, USB operator console

I then drafted a future design element: a silicon sleeve that wraps around the device, following the intuitive hand placement when holding the centrifuge. The other devices within the larger benchtop will also receive color-coded sleeves, creating a seamless, ergonomic workstation.

Project “Pippa” Automated Pipetting

Quanterix

The second project I worked on was “Pippa,” the largest lab bench pipetting device for Quanterix. I texturized over 500 internal components, down to each individual aluminum screw or polyethylene pipette. These are key features I was tasked to highlight:

  • 2 specialized pipette nozzles

  • Left: Smaller, micro-pipette

  • Right: Larger mixing tip
